"Elaine offers an insightful and compassionate view of what it's like to live with dementia, both from the perspective of the person with the diagnosis and from his/her caregiver. She preserves the dignity of adulthood while discussing significant symptoms and impairments of a progressive dementing illness, and creates and nurtures hope by introducing the listener to a framework with which to consider the profound thinking and life changes required when one is faced with such diagnoses.”

"Elaine’s workshop on caregiving was one of the most helpful and informative workshops we have ever offered. The day was well balanced with information, discussion, and humor, and there was often reassurance through stories Elaine told from her book, Letters from Madelyn, Chronicles of a Caregiver. Elaine knows what she is talking about, but it is her style that really opened up the students to the topic. She is not only warm and engaging, she has a wonderful sense of humor and perspective. ”

“Dear Elaine, You were so wonderful to work with and so kind and understanding. You showed such compassion and kindness not only to me but to everyone you came into contact with over the two days that you were here. I was truly impressed and inspired. The people who attended your presentation had high praises for you. They each felt touched and inspired by the ideas you had in helping them learn to cope with their role as caregivers, and they all related to you in ways of their own.
Elaine, you are a natural speaker for caregivers and if I can ever help you by vouching for your abilities, please just let me know.”

I recently attended your workshop on eldercare. I was impressed by your ability to hold the audience's attention by speaking from the heart about your mother’s experiences. Along with your authentic knowledge concerning human nature, your also gave extremely practical tips on how caregivers can take care of themselves. You reinforced for me the knowledge that if I cannot nurture myself, I will not be able to practice attentive loving-kindness towards those who are sick and may be dying.
